Level 1 Burlesque with Emeraude LaStarr

Level 1 Burlesque is open to all levels of ability. Classes will begin with a 15-minute warm-up that incorporates stretching and movement that will improve posture, balance, and coordination as well as increase strength and flexibility. Each week you will learn choreography set to the song, Upside Down by Paloma Faith. This upbeat act will incorporate jazz and hip-hop moves, theatrics, voguing, and chair work! We will drill more challenging choreography and facial expressions weekly until they become second nature. You’re in for a lot of clown-like fun, and sexy burlesque antics!
There will be a performance opportunity at the San Diego International Fringe Festival (June 21st-July 1st) offered to students who attend all classes. Performers will be expected to purchase costume pieces for the show including but not limited to bustles, bras, stockings, and pasties.
Attire
Comfortable, form-fitting active wear should be worn to class. Layering is recommended, as classroom temperatures may vary. Dance heels are required during choreography. Use code TP107031 for 5 – 10% off!


*All classes and rehearsals leading up to the shows (BUT ONE) must be attended in order to participate in performing. There are no refunds unless the class is canceled by Unity Hoops.

All 8 weeks, from April 3 – May 29, no class May 8 is $96 (+ tax), $12 per class or $15 (+tax) to drop-in.
